Juanita Frazier Of Washington D.C.; Woman Fatally Shot at Temple Hills Park
A homicide investigation is ongoing after a woman was found fatally shot late Tuesday night at Oxon Run Community Park in Temple Hills, leaving the community unsettled and authorities working to determine what happened.
According to the Maryland-National Capital Park Police and the Prince George’s County Police Department, officers responded around 10:20 p.m. following a report of an unresponsive woman in the park.
When they arrived, officers found a 38-year-old woman from Washington, D.C., suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. She was later identified as Juanita Frazier.
The area was secured as detectives with the Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit began their investigation. Authorities are working to understand the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including how the victim came to be at the park and whether others were involved.
At this time, no suspect information or motive has been released, and no arrests have been made. Investigators say the case remains active as they continue to collect evidence and follow leads.
The park, typically a place for community activity, remained closed for several hours as police processed the scene.
